The Abundant Life Church at 210 Capich Drive in Eagle River will host the 2015 Northwoods Christian Women's Steppin' Out Conference on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28.

"Our new debt-free sanctuary will be ready to use and we are excited to be able to bring this conference to our home church in Eagle River," said Senior Pastor Gary Dixon.

Pastor Cheryl Dixon, founder of the conference, will be speaking on the life of Queen Esther. "I want to encourage women to reach their God-given potential, to release their level of expectancy, and to enlarge their vision," said Dixon.

Northwoods Steppin' Out is designed to be a safe place for women. The conference annually draws approximately 200 women from all over the state and beyond.

"Women come to these annual conferences to be energized and filled with power-packed teachings of the unshakable word of God," said Dixon.

Dixon is an ordained minister with Dr. Mark T. Barclay Ministries. She is the recipient of an honorary doctorate in 2006 from Jameson Christian College. She serves as a senior co-pastor of Abundant Life Church together with her husband, Dr. Gary Dixon.

The Abundant Life Worship Team will be on hand for both sessions. Led by Dixon, this team of 14 musicians, singers, and praisers include a lead guitarist from the Nashville Christian rock band, AFB; the lead singer and bass guitarist for the Wisconsin River Band, a professional drummer who spent his first 20 years in the secular music world; and a former guitarist with Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, Calif.

"Every year, we receive many wonderful reports and comments from people who attend these conferences," said Pastor Dixon.

There is no charge for this year's conference: "Queen, Take Your Throne." While seating is free, registration is recommended. A free-will offering will be taken.

Check-in for the Northwoods Christian Women's Steppin Out Conference begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday with sessions starting at 7 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. respectively. The conference will end at noon on Saturday.
