Warehouse Four Season Center for the Arts in Eagle River announces January lineup
Drawing Still Lives is a four-week introductory drawing class using charcoal and pastel which will take place on Mondays, starting on Jan. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., the center said in a press release. Juliana Stover is the instructor. Starting with basic drawing exercises, students will focus on still life. As the class progresses, students will create a more detailed still life drawing. All supplies will be furnished by the Warehouse. This class is for students ages 12 and up. The cost for the class is $80.
Stover has been an artist since she was a preteen, the release states. She graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in drawing. It's been many years since and in addition she has enjoyed lots of ceramics, sewing and woodworking.
"Stover has earned two master's degrees with an international focus and for 17 years she taught English to new immigrant adults," the release continues. "She even lived in China for a year. She's very excited to be involved in a community enrichment program focusing in studio arts."
On the first, third and fourth Thursdays of the month, the Warehouse will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for "Makers Space." Artists and craftspeople working in various media are invited to drop in during all or part of this time, bring in their supplies and work on their individual projects in the company of others. The public is also welcome to drop in during this open period. Eagle River artist Debbie Jircik will facilitate.
