Candy, nicknamed "Coner," was born and raised in Rhinelander and was a Rhinelander High School graduate. She later enrolled in several courses through Nicolet. Candy was employed in the Liquor Department at Walmart where she loved visiting with customers over the past 13 years. She enjoyed shooting pool, movie collecting, playing cards and walking. Candy bravely fought heart disease for many years. She always thought of others before herself and will be remembered for her fun-loving personality. Candy truly earned her angel wings and will always be looking over her large family whom she adored.
Survivors include her husband, Alex Andres Mendosa, of Rhinelander; parents, Kim and Ramona Sandberg of Rhinelander; one sister, Sabrina (Craig) Redmond, of Rhinelander; six uncles, Allen Towne and Randy (Donna) Towne, both of Lac du Flambeau; Shane (Marlene) Klemm of Medford; Dennis "Sandy" Sandberg, Gary "Butch" Sandberg, and Joel (Cheryl) Sandberg, all of Rhinelander; five aunts, Rose (Lee) Fintelmann, of Tomahawk; Kathy (Edwin III) Johnson, of Rhinelander; Valerie (Gary) Yamauchi of Rhinelander; Debbie Horwath of Medford and Terry Sandberg, of Rhinelander; four nieces, Yvonne, Lara, Denise and Marianne, and one nephew, Chase.
She is further survived by her goddaughter, Savannah, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis and Audrey Sandberg, and Raymond and Phyllis Towne; her uncle, Larry Sandberg; her aunt, Sandy Sandberg; and three dogs, Lady, Bear and Perro.
A memorial service for Candy Andres will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at Nativity of our Lord Church - South Site in Rhinelander at 11 a.m. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Ministry Hospice and Candy's Walmart family.
