The public can donate mittens, scarves and hats to decorate the tree. The items will be donated to those in need later this month or early next month.
"I think it's a great thing," said Jennie Jaskie, teller supervisor at Associated Bank, adding that there is a woman who donates a bag of knitted clothing every year.
"The look on (the donors) faces that they made something - (the mittens, hats and scarves are) not all bought, a lot of them are handmade with love, of course, because they don't want to see anybody go cold during the holiday season (or) during the winter (is very heart-warming)," said Jaskie.
Jaskie said there are around 40 items on the tree right now but by the end of the collection period people won't be able to tell there is a tree under all the clothing.
"It's usually pretty full so we're hoping to accomplish that again," she said.
Associated Bank has been collecting items since the first of this month and will continue to do so until Dec. 23.
After Dec. 23 the items will be donated to local schools, social services and he Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
People can donate items during business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or on Saturdays through the drive-thu.
