Oneida County Fair organizers seek vendors and volunteers
The fair will run from 5 p.m. Thursday, July 30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 at Pioneer Park in Rhinelander. It will include carnival amusements, the Hodag Equestrian Drill team, 4-H and open class exhibits, UB the Band, Cassidy's Critters, senior activities and more.
Music entertainment will include Chasin Mason (country rock band scheduled for July 30) and the Jimmys' (R&B Blues band scheduled July 31) with more music yet to be determined. There is no admission charge or parking fee.
"Currently sponsorships and vendors are being solicited," fair organizers said in a press release. "Many vendors are returning for the limited number of sites available, so it is important to get your vendor application and fee in soon. Non-profit organizations pay only $25 for a site but are expected to man their display for the whole fair time period. Vendors interested in just a one day slot, available Saturday only, can pay $140 for a non-electric site. This is a wonderful opportunity for organizations to get additional publicity from an expected crowd of 20,000. There is a need for volunteer help in a variety of areas. This time of year, help is needed to collect school exhibits, lead the 'Ugly Lamp Contest,' seek out donations and sponsorships, distribute fair exhibit books, and contribute to the fair committee decision-making at their monthly meetings. As fair time approaches, help will be needed to set up the fair, build exhibits, sell wristbands, and man the fair entrances. There is no time requirement for volunteering, and innovational ideas are always welcome."
