It's time to get fired up for the seventh annual Rich Seubert Celebrity Trap Shoot, featuring alumni members of the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers.

The trap shoot, presented by Security Health Plan, is Saturday, April 11, at the Eau Claire Rod and Gun Club.

Seubert, a Super Bowl champion and Rozellville native, has helped raise more than $1.1 million for heart research at Marshfield Clinic, including $154,000 at last year's trap shoot.

Seubert created an endowment to benefit heart research at Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation in honor of his grandmother, Celine Seubert, who had a heart transplant more than 26 years ago.

Celine was one of the country's longest surviving heart transplant patients. The family gives credit to the Clinic for her being alive to watch her grandson play 11 seasons for the New York Giants and help win Super Bowl XLII as the starting left guard.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. and was the second-leading cause of death in 2013 in Wisconsin, according to Wisconsin Department of Health Services data.

"Cardiology research played a significant role in my family spending more than two decades with my grandmother after her heart transplant," Seubert said. "I want others to have the same gift of spending time with their loved ones."

Celine Seubert died shortly after last year's trap shoot.

The trap shoot was launched in 2008 on the heels of the New York Giants' Super Bowl win.

Seubert will be joined by Grey Ruegamer, a two-time Super Bowl champ and former player with the Giants and Green Bay Packers, and Chris Bober, formerly of the Giants and Kansas City Chiefs. Former tackle Kevin Barry and former running back Tony Fisher also are among Packers and Seubert's teammates who will attend this year's event.

Following the trap shoot, an evening dinner reception will be held at The Florian Gardens in Eau Claire with raffles and auctions featuring luxurious vacations, rare sports memorabilia, guns and more.

Registration is $1,000 per five-person team or $200 per individual shooter and includes lunch, ammunition, event jacket and evening reception. Spectators may join the fun for $100 and enjoy lunch, event jacket and evening reception.
