Nicolet College selects 2015-16 student ambassadors
"Being named a Nicolet Student Ambassador is one of the highest honors the college gives a student," said Christin Van Kauwenberg, co-curricular engagement coach and chair of the Ambassador selection committee. "All three of the students selected are very deserving and I'm sure will do a great job representing Nicolet."
Students are first nominated for the honor and then selected for the position after going through an interview process.
Diana Archdale will serve as the District Student Ambassador.
"Nicolet is so much more than just a college," Archdale said. "It really is a place that helps you reach your goals and realize your dreams. It's an honor for me to serve as Ambassador and let others know about all of the wonderful possibilities available to them at Nicolet."
Her nominators wrote: "Diana is always willing to go the extra mile. She understands the sacrifice, determination, and balancing act it takes to be a successful student. Her dynamic personality, empathetic qualities, and outgoing personality would make her the perfect representative of Nicolet College."
Archdale, from Minocqua, is in the University Transfer Liberal Arts program. After she graduates from Nicolet she plans to transfer to a four-year campus to earn a bachelor's degree.
Ian Anderson, a student in the Information Technology program from Rhinelander, will serve as the Nicolet College Foundation Ambassador.
"Ian is a natural-born leader and strives to improve himself as well as the people around him," wrote his nominator. "Ian shows a strong passion for learning and teaching. He demonstrates this by helping his fellow students at every turn, regardless of the time commitment."
Brooke Welch, a student in the Associate Degree Nursing program from Three Lakes, will serve as the High School Ambassador.
"Brooke is very committed to Nicolet and a young women of high character," wrote her nominator. "She's outgoing, joyful, and a great role model to motivate other college students.
In April, Archdale will join District Student Ambassadors from the 15 other colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System for the state Ambassador Conference in Madison.
