Ponsse demonstrated its new harvester, the Scorpion King, at the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom (CAVOC) last month. Approximately 90 cords of red oak logs, bolts and pulp were harvested during the demo and later sold on the open market. Manny Oradei, Department of Natural Resources forester, was the key person setting up this sale. The proceeds from the sale was approximately $10,600. The funds will benefit the School District of Rhinelander's CAVOC forestry program. Pictured is Oradei with logs harvested during the demo. A cross country ski/snowshoe trail at CAVOC was also seeded after the demo.
