Nicolet College Foundation's Run to Remember and Family Fun Day Sept. 20 to honor Kory Dahlvig
The event on the Nicolet College Campus will feature a 5K run/walk with participants lining up at 9:45 a.m. and the race beginning at 10 a.m. The line-up for the half-mile children's event will take place at 10:45 a.m. and start at 11 a.m. Registration fee for the 5K is $30. The children's run/walk is free. Other activities for children will also be available.
"Proceeds from the event will go to scholarships we've created to honor Kory and the service he provided to the Northwoods," said Heather Schallock, executive director of the Nicolet College Foundation.

The evening before, Friday, Sept. 19, the college will hold a free Family Fun Night which will feature a recently released popular family movie that will be shown outdoors in the Nicolet Field.
Dahlvig, a Rhinelander High School graduate, received his Criminal Justice associate degree from Nicolet in 2003. He worked for the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police Department and Eagle River Police Department before joining the Vilas County Sheriff's Department in 2007.
He was killed in a traffic accident in 2010 while responding to a mutual aid request from the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police Department.
