Residents and those familiar with the Rhinelander area can probably talk about how great life in the Northwoods can be - we're blessed with countless opportunities to enjoy some of the best lakes, rivers, forests and trails in the region. We get to enjoy these things everyday though, so sometimes it's hard to imagine how our home appears to visitors and potential residents. That's why the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce embarks on one of its biggest projects each year - the creation and distribution of the official Rhinelander Area Guide.

Each year, tens of thousands of these guides are printed and distributed at sports and travel shows, sent out to people requesting information about the Rhinelander area, and distributed throughout the Northwoods and state of Wisconsin at some of the most highly traveled and visited locations. The Rhinelander Area Guide is always full of community information, attractions, shopping options, dining choices, lodging facilities, a business directory and much more. It is our goal to create a product that people are interested in reading and one that helps paint the picture of what living, working and vacationing in the Rhinelander area means.

To help paint that picture, I'm asking of your help. In this case, the cliche "a picture is worth a thousand words" is unavoidable - pictures in the Rhinelander Area Guide are some of the best ways we can convey how enjoyable it is to live, work, or visit here. If you have photos of people enjoying life in the Northwoods that you think should be included in the 2015 Rhinelander Area Guide, then I invite you to submit them to us here at the chamber - either by email to [email protected] or in person at 450 W Kemp St, Rhinelander. High quality smartphone pictures work great but we also love getting high resolution, well-lit photos as those are usually the ones we choose for cover or full-page spots.

The publication process moves quickly, so we'll need all submissions by Oct. 14 to make sure they're considered for the Rhinelander Area Guide. I look forward to seeing the many different ways people choose to enjoy the Rhinelander area!
