By Kayla Thomason-

It will be hog heaven in Tomahawk this weekend as bikers descend on the Northwoods for the 33rd annual Fall Ride for MDA.

This year's event will be held from Sept. 11-13. SARA Park will be home base.

Bikers can enter the park at 3 p.m. Thursday to buy raffle tickets and get started with the Fun Run sales.

Those participating in the Fun Run will be given a card which they must have stamped at each location on the map to be entered into a drawing on Saturday.

Howard Guitar Ludtke and Magic Deb will entertain the crowd from 3 to 7 p.m. Spicy Tie will take over from 7 to 11 p.m.

Bike lovers will want to check out the 2015 Harley-Davidson demo fleet and test motorcycles from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. The new product display trailer will also be available.

Scott Kirby will perform from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Following him will be Granite Rose from 1 to 5 p.m.

After the music will be the Big Deal Dump.

"You pick a ball out of a basket and whatever that number coincides with, that's the prize you get," said event coordinator Krystal Westfahl.

It costs $20 to enter the raffle and there will be 600 different prizes available including T-shirts, leathers, full chaps, beer, and much more.

A roller derby bout between the Northwoods Derby Knockouts and the River Valley Roller Girls will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Each team has a jammer and points are scored when the jammer laps the opposing team's members.

The women skate in the same direction, blocking and doing their best to hinder the other team's jammer.

Also on Saturday will be the fifth annual Rumble Through the Woods Pledge Ride. Registration is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The group will leave SARA Park at 3:30 p.m. for the 90-mile ride.

Mark Healey of Badfinger will play for the crowd from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m followed by Donnie Pick & the Road Band from 1 to 5 p.m.

The live auction, which draws hundreds of people, will kick off at 5 p.m. People can win an assortment of prizes, everything from leather jackets to Harley-Davidson memorabilia to flags, watches, toolboxes, clocks and more.

A Van Halen tribute band will take the stage after the auction.

Head East, the headliner for Saturday night, will close out the night.

A custom-painted ultra classic electric glide motorcycle will be auctioned off during the concert.

Tickets are being sold in Tomahawk.

Throughout the weekend people can see or participate in the HOG Pin Stop and demo rides, one of three in the country.

There will also be a paddle raffle on a custom-made paddle wheel that looks like a motorcycle.

There will be eight different food trucks selling corn dogs, brats, hamburgers, cheese curds, loaded stuffed potatos, falafel, Greek food, Pepsi and Miller products.

All money and proceeds from the Tomahawk Fall Ride at SARA Park for MDA will go directly to MDA.

MDA is a not-for-profit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy. The Fall Ride in SARA Park raises money to support families in the community dealing with muscular dystrophy.

"We're trying to raise $100,000 on this event to support these families throughout the year," Westfahl said. "We're trying every year to - and not necessarily make more money because right now we are able to help the families that we have - we want to make sure that we're continuously giving them the same amount of money and the same amount of help every year."

Over 20,000 people participated in the Tomahawk Fall Ride for MDA last year.

"We're just trying to make sure that we're giving people the best experience they possibly can so that they come back year after year and help us do our mission," Westfahl said. "I think that the folks that live in the general community as well as those traveling from far off lands want to do good and be a part of this great big event. They don't call it little Sturgis for nothing."

Harley-Davidson is the largest supporter of the Fall Ride for MDA, according to Westfahl.
