UW Madison's nationally renowned performers, the Wisconsin Singers, will return to Minocqua for an evening of unforgettable musical entertainment Sept. 25 at the Lakeland Union High School Auditorium to perform their newest show Simply the Best. For 46 years, the Wisconsin Singers has toured across the country as one of the top collegiate entertainment companies in America. This spectacular song, dance and live music stage show is filled with memorable fun for the entire family. The show is sponsored by the Lakeland Performing Arts Association and in part by grants from the Wisconsin Arts Board and the Northern Arts Council.

Written by the arranger of NBC's "The Sing Off" and staged by Broadway choreographers, Wisconsin Singers 46th season's show features the best talent from the UW-Madison campus. With songs from the past 40 years of American pop music, guests will enjoy chart-topping artists like Billy Joel, the Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson. Relive unforgettable performances by pop music scene-stealers such as Cher, Gene Kelly, and Lady Gaga. Children of all ages will laugh aloud at Aladdin singing "One Jump Ahead" and enjoy Simba from Lion King in "I Just Can't Wait to be King!" The celebrated Wisconsin Singers band will rock the house with big band sounds from Glenn Miller to the disco music of the Bee Gees.

The group features a star-studded cast of 24 male and female students from UW-Madison. They are some of the most talented singers-dancers and instrumentalists on campus. The Wisconsin Singers will also be conducting a clinic in the afternoon with LUHS music department students. The students will have an opportunity to perform as part of the concert.
