"[Kids In Need is] a great cause, they do really great stuff there," said Bob Sackett, owner of Sackett's Bar. "We try to give back to the community as much as we can."
Tammy Ellis, program director for Kids In Need, was very grateful for the donation.
"It's huge," she said. "As we're doing our $16,000 drive, the community has come out and really done well for us and Sackett's Bar is one of our biggest supporters. Every single time we have a fundraiser their patrons come out in droves."
Kids in Need also received a $10,000 donation from the Dobbs Foundation. According to its website, the private charitable foundation established in 1959 is dedicated to improving access to health services, promoting environmental stewardship, and enriching the arts.
Ellis said her organization needed $10,000 by the end of the year and receiving the Dobbs donation was "the cherry on top."
"Thanks to the community when we made this plea they really came out," Ellis said. "We really appreciate the fact that the community has been so supportive during this tough time for us."
The donations will help Kids In Need stay open, take care of the children it serves and pay employees.
