Those who came out to the event radiated energy as they performed upbeat, fast-paced dance routines.
Laura Singsime has participated in Zumba for several years but this was her first time at the Zumba Party for Paws.
"I think there are a lot of people here, the energy is absolutely amazing. I absolutely love it," she said.
Singsime said she would participate in next year's event.
"Hands down it's a good activity for donations for the humane society and everything else," she said.
She and her friend, Lynn Springer met several years ago while working out and they got into Zumba together. They attended the party together.
For those who are hesitant about trying this fun, high-energy, hip-swinging activity, Springer says "give it a try, it's a lot of fun. It's a great way to work out."
Event coordinator Veronika Baron thought the turnout was "phenomenal" and was hoping to surpass last year's goal of $1,300.
"I'm not going to be disappointed if we don't (reach that goal) but I always set my goals high," Baron said.
The event raised $1,160 for the humane society, organizers reported Monday.
