Youth Sports: Middle school harriers sweep Pines Invite
The Hodag boys placed five runners in the top eight to easily defeat Northland Pines and Lakeland. The Hodag girls edged out Lakeland 25-30.
Bridger Flory won the boys' race, covering the course in a time of 9 minutes, 9 seconds. Skylar Mahner (fourth, 9:47), Konner Kennedy (fifth, 10:18), Jacob Weddle (sixth, 10:22) and Brandon Kolasa (eighth, 10:34) rounded out the Hodag top five.
On the girls' side, Rhinelander's Claire Bowman clocked in first with a time of 11:02. Brooke Beauchaine (fifth, 11:33), Ellery Werner (seventh, 11:43), Mattia Beske (eighth, 12:16) and Emilee Pontell (13th, 12:33) rounded out the Hodag scoring.
