Halloween coloring contest for kids offered by The Northwoods River News
By By River News Staff-
In celebration of this fun time of year, kids in preschool through sixth grade are encouraged to enter the Create-A-Monster Coloring Contest hosted by The Northwoods River News. Kids may create and/or color a monster of their choice on the Create-A-Monster page from either the Oct. 18 Northwoods Super Shopper or the Oct. 21 River News. Creations may be entered and dropped off at the office of The Northwoods River News or the Rhinelander Walmart's Customer Service Center. Entries are displayed at Walmart and winners are chosen from the following categories: creativity/originality, use of color, artistic ability/skill in relationship to age group and use of space. Additional contest forms will be available at Walmart and the River News.
Area businesses are also encouraged to participate. The Create-A-Monster page is published and distributed with the sponsorship from advertisements of local businesses. A one column by four inch ad space is available in both papers for only $32, regularly $49.
Another way to help with the contest is to donate prizes for the winning entries. Sixteen children will be awarded a special goodie bag filled with prizes, based on winning entries in each category and age group. Prize donors are also mentioned on the coloring pages.
To provide prize donations or place a sponsorship ad, contact the River News office at (715) 365-6397, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or email [email protected]. The sponsor deadline is Monday, Oct. 13.
