"But wait!," Camp 5 said in a press release. "There may be hazards on the trip. The rumor is that the train may be robbed by a gang of desperadoes before it reaches Camp 5! Passengers shouldn't worry, however, because we know that a group of dedicated lawmen are on the trail of the bad guys. You can bet they won't get away with it!"
Passengers will be a witness to a grand spectacle of beautiful horses, great horsemen and women, all wearing clothing from the era, shooting authentic firearms (blanks of course!), and of justice being served.
"It is always a special event when the cowboy re-enactors come to Camp 5 complex on the Lumberjack Steam Train," the press release states. "All walks of life from the Old West are depicted from preachers to dance hall girls, and you'll find yourself wondering if you are in the present or transported back in time."
In addition to the cowboys, there wil be pumpkin decorating for the kids, a marshmallow roast, and, of course, the beautiful autumn color that adds to the experience. The regular features of the Camp 5 Museum will also be open, like the petting zoo, the logging museum, the working blacksmith, the computerized history available for those who want to look up logging history, The Green Treasure Forest Tour, and the Cracker Barrel Gift Shop, complete with great fudge.
The Lumberjack Steam Train leaves the depot on U.S. Highway 8 at 10 a.m. and every hour on the hour with the last run leaving at 2 p.m. The last train leaves Camp 5 for the depot at 4 p.m.
