Tomahawk will celebrate the holiday season with a Christmas Parade on Nov. 29. The parade will start at 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by the Winter Wonderland, located behind the Rodeo Saloon and Grill.

Spectators can expect to see approximately 12 floats travel down Wisconsin Avenue.

Anyone can participate in the parade but floats must be registered at the chamber office. There is no specific theme.

"I think it's one of those traditions that parents bring their kids down and they watch the parade and then everyone heads over for Winter Wonderland and they go (see) Santa and have hot cocoa and cookies," said Tamra Anderson, executive director of the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce.

The parade is just beginning. There will be children shopping from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and children can watch two free movies at the Tomahawk Cinema.

Families can take a horse-drawn carriage ride - which is free for children - visit Santa in Santa's Cabin behind the Rodeo Saloon and Grill and drink hot chocolate as they warm up by the bonfire. The fire starts around 5 p.m. and will roar until 8 p.m. or until all of the children get to see Santa.

"People now are bringing their kids when they use to go with their parents so I think everybody just really likes the tradition of it," Anderson said.

To register floats, or for more information, call the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce at (715) 453-5334.
