Rhinelander High School FBLA/DECA looks to raise money with cash raffle
By By Morgan Blaser-
What does this mean? FBLA/DECA students are selling raffle tickets that will be put in a cash drawing for a chance for the buyer to win up to $5,000. Each ticket costs $100. Once purchased, the ticket stubs will be put in a drawing to be held on Dec. 5 at halftime of the Hodag varsity boys' basketball game. You do not have to be present to win. There are only 200 tickets being sold. The prizes are as follows: 1st place: $5,000, 2nd place: $2,000, 3rd place: $1,000, 4th place: $500, 5th place: $500, 6th place: $300, 7th place: $250, 8th place: $250, 9th place: $100, and 10th place: $100. Tickets can be paid for in cash or by check. Checks can be made payable to RHS FBLA. If interested in purchasing a ticket or two, contact the advisors -- Ms. Mischell Fryar or Mr. Patrick Kubeny at [email protected] or [email protected] or at (715) 365-9500.
Fifty percent of each ticket will go toward the raffle. The other 50 percent will go toward supporting members of FBLA/DECA. Each ticket sold will help to send a student to regional, state or national levels of competition and assist with the costs of other fieldtrips. All in all, the money spent for a ticket is well worth the price. Not only does it benefit someone of FBLA/DECA but you also have a chance to come out $5,000 dollars richer.
FBLA/DECA is a student organization at Rhinelander High School that promotes business education and marketing experience. FBLA is a non-profit organization that helps to prepare students for careers in business and business-related fields. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Together, both clubs help to better educate students in their love for business. Rhinelander FBLA/DECA, with a membership of about ninety kids, encourages its members to participate in regional, state, and national levels of competition and to engage in multiple volunteering opportunities. Information about FBLA can be found at http://www.fbla-pbl.org/ and information about DECA can be found at http://www.deca.org/. Thank you for supporting RHS FBLA/DECA.
