Lakeland Performing Arts presents Amit Peled Dec. 3
From the United States to Europe to the Middle East and Asia, Israeli cellist Amit Peled is a musician of profound artistry and charismatic stage presence, the Lakeland Performing Arts Association said in a press release announcing his performance.
Peled is a strong advocate of breaking the boundaries between performers and the public, and trying to promote and share classical music with wider audiences, the release states.
He has performed as soloist with orchestras around the world and in the world's major concert halls. As a recording artist Peled has just released two critically acclaimed CDs.
One of the most sought after cello pedagogues in the world, Peled is a professor at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University and plays a rare Andrea Guarneri Cello ca. 1689.
His program is titled Cellobration and includes familiar classical pieces as well as one or two of a lighter nature.
