As first reported by The Lakeland Times, the Krist gas station along State Highway 51 in Woodruff was held up around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.
The robber, who wore a dark-colored mask and brandished a handgun, demanded money; the store clerk provided an unknown amount of cash.
Around 10 p.m. Sunday, police received a tip of a suspicious person in a vehicle at the Trig's 70 West Center in Minocqua who matched the description of the suspect. That person was taken into custody and is being held in the Oneida County jail, according to a press release issued Monday morning from the Woodruff Police Department.
The Lakeland Times is not naming the suspect because he has not been charged.
Officers from the Woodruff Police Department, Minocqua Police Department, Oneida County sheriff's office, Vilas County sheriff's office and Wisconsin State Patrol were at the scene. K-9 units from the Rhinelander Police Department and Lac du Flambeau Police Department also responded.
The case remains under investigation.
