"We pick[ed the last two days of the month] because the end of the month is when people tend to be running out of funds and may be short on food," said Judy Beyer, lead coordinator for the church.
Various organizations donate their time to prepare the free meal.
Food is served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come no matter their income.
Boyd Breivogel, a regular, thinks the food is great.
"It's great, I'm just very thankful for this," he said.
Lasagna, chicken, and the meal that was served on Friday - hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, bread and butter, Jell-O and chocolate pudding - are his favorites.
"This is a nice place to come," said Jan Hegstrom. "The food is good. There is one special guy that makes a really good spaghetti that is out of this world and he comes here once a year to do it."
Along with a good meal, guests can solcialize without feeling rushed.
"I like all the people here and Father (Dean Einerson) is always good and it's nice that they can provide a meal," Hegstrom said.
The Table was established in 1995 and is made possible by a small army of dedicated volunteers and organizations.
Each group's participation is appreciated. Organizations don't serve more than once within a year, but they are more than welcome to participate in future years.
"Our church could not (host The Table0 without community assistance," Beyer said.
She is available at every meal to answer questions, serve food and make guests feel at home.
Thursday night the Rhinelander Woman's Club served 82 people. On Friday, Forward Service Corporation served approximately 45 guests.
This is Forward Service's third year providing food for The Table.
"It means a lot because Saint Augustine's Church is very supportive with one of our state shelter subsidy grants for Forward Service Corporation so we like to give back to the church because they are so generous with us," said Lori Hallas, organizer for Forward Service Corporation and the Job Center.
To serve a meal, call Saint Augustine's at (715) 362-3184 and ask for Einerson.
