"I was surprised to walk in, (to) see it as big as it is today," said Terri Nelson, a customer who has attended Senior Center rummage sales in the past.
The former Hancock Fabrics store was filled with racks of clothes, shoes, houseware items, figurines, books, games, blankets, furniture and other items priced to sell.
The three-day sale concludes Saturday.
"Saturday is actually our $2 bag sale and what that is, is when they come in the door they buy a Trig's bag for $2 and anything they can stuff in the bag for $2 they can leave with and a lot of clothes go out the door," said Stephanie Schroeder, activities and volunteer coordinator with the Department on Aging/Senior Center.
The $2 bag sale continues until 3 p.m. Saturday.
Customers said they like that the proceeds from their purchases go to the senior center.
"It's really nice and (a) good deal. They have items priced right and it's all going to help the senior citizens," said Jeanne Ravet.
Items that don't sell will be dispersed throughout the community, organizers said.
Clothing and bedding will be given to Warm for the Winter, items for children will go to the Old School Arts and Learning Center, and if Rhinelander High School is still collecting shoes it will receive footwear that doesn't sell.
"We are certainly thankful for all the volunteers that came in to help and all the shoppers that participated," Schroeder said.
She also thanked the volunteers for sorting, pricing, and marking sizes.
"I think it's a nice sale, they have a lot of nice items," said Holly Shepherd.
