Since 1985, the RDLF has invested more than $500,000 in building projects ranging from the computerized card catalog to HVAC replacement to the recent addition of a self-checkout machine.
Maria Gonzalez-Cerra, a member of the Rhinelander District Library Foundation for more than 10 years and president for the past year, resigned from that position at the May meeting. Of her service, Gonzalez-Cerra notes, "the foundation has given me the opportunity to contribute to our community and support one of the most important institutions we have-the Rhinelander District Library. I anticipate that under new leadership the foundation will continue its unwavering support of the Rhinelander District Library's programs and capital projects."
The foundation has two annual fundraisers: the Ced Vig Holiday Book Fund, and the Spring Capital Campaign which, this year, will be tailored to suit the library's proposed building expansion.
New president Nancy Carrillo is grateful for this opportunity to serve. "It's an exciting time in the library's history," she said, "and I look forward to being part of the collaborative effort in support of this vital institution."
In addition to Carrillo, other officers are Vice-President Susan Anderson, Treasurer John Coyle and Secretary Mary Kinnunen.
