Seventh and eighth grade students from Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School and James Williams Middle School, as well as Rhinelander home-schooled students, recently competed in the Helen Mears Art competition. The winners are, from left to right, Elizabeth Glut, first place and Best of Show in sculpture for "Gru," Mikayla Evenstad, second place in 2-D art for "House," Tory Hanner, third place with "Toad Stool," Grace Heck, fifth place in 2-D art for "Summer Days," Emma Roberts fourth place in 2-D art for "Colorful Waters," Brandi Hunter, fourth place with the sculpture "Story of My Life," and Gabe Morten, first place and Best of Show in 2-D art for "Serpents Lair." Unable to attend were Allyson Seefeldt, who took third place in 2-D art for "Marine Biologist," and Stephanie Schoone, who took second place in sculpture for "Coil Pot." The Helen Mears Art competition was sponsored by the Rhinelander Woman's Club.
