Let's go for a ride: Health department to host annual bike rodeo May 21
To help support National Bike Month, the Oneida County Health Department will host a bike rodeo this spring. The rodeo will take place on May 21, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Rhinelander Walmart parking lot. In case of rain or severe weather, the rodeo will be postponed to May 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. This is a public event and is free to children between the ages of 5 and 12.
Please bring your child's bike, and helmet if they have one. The event will include a series of obstacle courses designed to simulate real-life experiences in order to properly teach bicycle safety skills to children. The event will also include a meal, bike repairs by Bikes n' Boards, helmets for all children in need, a bike raffle and prizes.
The bike rodeo is possible thanks to support from Aspirus, Camp Fire USA, CoVantage Credit Union, Department of Transportation, Jackie and Pete Cody, Kiwanis Club of Rhinelander, Rhinelander Lions Club, Marshfield Clinic, Ministry Health Care, Minocqua Design Solutions, Oneida County Biking and Walking Trails Council, Pelican Rescue and Fire Department, Peoples State Bank, Security Health Plan, and Walmart.
