JWMS science students create posters about disease transmission and prevention
Earlier this school year, science students learned about microorganisms in their science classes. Some of the major topics covered were the differences between bacteria and viruses, fungal infections and spread, antiseptics versus disinfectants, positive roles of bacteria in nature, uses of antibiotics and when to use them, antibiotic resistance, disease in general, food safety and production, and the different modes of disease transmission.
As an extension of this unit, the science teachers worked with the computer literacy teacher, Ms. Martiny, to develop a technology-based assignment to further assess students' aptitude concerning the topics mentioned. The top posters will be on display at the main Rhinelander Aspirus Clinic, where they can be observed and voted on by the Aspirus staff and clients of the clinic.
