Anderson named Nicolet College student ambassador
As ambassador, Anderson will help inform residents of the opportunities Nicolet has available to them and their communities.
"Earning a college degree opens so many doors," Anderson explained "It creates so many opportunities, personally, professionally, and financially. My goal is to let as many people as possible know the value of a college education and to be a strong advocate for Nicolet College."
Anderson, a regular on Nicolet's dean's list, is currently enrolled in the Information Technology program. He has his sights set on earning both the computer support specialist and web software developer associate degrees. After graduation, he plans to transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Stout to earn a bachelor's degree in information technology.
"There's no question Carl will be a great ambassador for Nicolet," said Leanne Vigue-Miranda, an academic advisor at Nicolet who nominated Anderson. "He's the type of person who really goes out and makes the future happen. He has a very strong sense of perseverance and a solid understanding of the value of a college education. Those are excellent traits to have to serve as student ambassador."
The statewide student ambassador program includes all 16 colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System. One student from each college is selected for the honor based on high academic achievement, community involvement, leadership, and a commitment to higher education.
As part of his responsibilities, Anderson will represent Nicolet at the state ambassador conference this April in Madison.
