What makes Rhinelander special?

How we strive together to make a better future for the next generations in the Northwoods. Each generation has seen improvement from the one before it, and that takes a strong commitment by the community.

What types of products or services do you offer?

Top-to-bottom home comfort service and repair for plumbing and HVAC.

What are some of the challenges your business faces?

Finding enough qualified and customer-minded technicians is tough. As Mike Rowe from "Dirty Jobs" has been saying, there is a severe shortage of people who are learning the trades. A lot of people still see home services as a "dirty" or "low-paying" field. That just simply isn't the case, as our technicians prove time and again.

What aspect of your business makes you most proud?

The care our team shows our customers. We're proud to be the most highly reviewed home service company in the state.

What benefits can your business offer for customers who buy local?

We can provide high-tech home comfort solutions at home-town costs. A lot of homes are becoming more automated to help cut energy costs to preserve the Northwoods. We don't know of another home service company in the Rhinelander area investing as much toward that.

What is your business relationship with the community?

We have been here for nearly 100 years. We have serviced over 80 percent of the homes in Rhinelander and provided jobs to hundreds in the community. There's some pride in that. When our techs go to major industry events, people are quite often surprised to hear how small of a town they are from, considering all their certifications and up-to-date knowledge on home tech.

What makes your business stand out?

Not our longevity, but the constant push we make toward the horizon. Our techs receive constant training in our custom-made training center here in Rhinelander, as well as across the country. If there is something new, our techs know everything about it and how to optimize it for every home.

What products or services do you offer that are unique?

There really are no other companies that hold as many techs with as much training or certifications as us. That is utterly unique to us and our customers know what that knowledge means for them. For instance, we are the only NEST certified company in the Rhinelander area. That new technology is saving home owners hundreds in heating costs every year.

What are your favorite restaurants, shops or attractions in Rhinelander?

We love the Pub! Also, Crimson Cafe keeps our team fueled with a steady stream of good caffeine.

What is your personal relationship and involvement with the community?

Speaking of our team, we have employees involved in so many community functions, it's hard to keep count. From softball, to the chamber, to offering training to the local schools using our training room there's a lot, but we're always looking for more.

Why do you think it is important to buy local?

A lot of small towns are seeing businesses fold to large franchises or chains (think Starbucks or Roto-Rooter). Some or most of that money leaves the community, and when it does the community suffers. Rhinelander has a proud heritage of many family owned and operated businesses. We need to fight for that.

Do you have any special events planned in the near future?

We're working on upgrading our training room to offer free home DIY classes for the local schools and community. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for more info on that.
