Chamber's 2014 Hodag Home Show to be held this weekend
By Kayla Thomason-
"We've just got a whole slew of businesses that cover inside the house, outside the house and then, of course, the art and craft centers too for anybody who wants to do a little bit of gift shopping for themselves or somebody else," said Kate Bauman, tourism and event coordinator at the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce.
The vendors range from nonprofits, like Habitat for Humanity and the Girl Scouts Troop 7265, to financial institutions and arts and crafts centers that create custom artwork from metal. Other vendors offer popcorn or homemade dips, landscaping tips, seemless gutters and home decor items.
"It's a great community event," Bauman said. "It's a great chance for not only community members to go see what the businesses have to offer, but it's also a great avenue for those businesses to show the community what they have."
As visitors walk through the door they will be handed a ticket to place in the raffle of their choice.
Prizes include gift baskets, coupons, T-shirts, jewelry and cutting boards, to name a few.
Activities for children may include a bounce house and Home Depot will have building kits for the children to put together.
There will be concession stands and Camp Fire USA will be providing snacks.
Volunteers are still needed and can sign up until Friday night.
Those wishing to volunteer should call the chamber at (715) 365-7464.
