After taking second place in Sunday's semifinal round, the Hodags faced Shorewood Monday afternoon. The justices of the Wisconsin Supreme Court judged the match.
Rhinelander defeated Shorewood to claim the state championship and earn a trip to the national tournament.
Community Education Coordinator Mike Cheslock said the school couldn't be prouder.
"We are very proud of the mock trial team and their accomplishments," he said. "We are excited to see how far they go at nationals and we wish them the best of luck."

Out of the 11 regional champions and five wildcard teams invited to participate in this year's Wisconsin High School Mock Trial Tournament, only two remain and tournament mainstay Rhinelander High School is once again one of them.
Rhinelander will compete against Shorewood Monday afternoon for the 2014 title. The justices of the Wisconsin Supreme Court will judge the match.
Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson will preside.
The semifinals consisted of four rounds of competition held at the Dane County Courthouse on Sunday. The rounds were power-paired and teams moved through their brackets until only two remained.
Faculty Advisor Kathy Vick-Martini said two Rhinelander students earned special honor at Sunday night's Mock Trial banquet.
"They announced five outstanding attorneys from all of the teams that competed in the semifinals and Amber Sheth was one of the top five attorneys in the state," she said. "They also announced the top five witnesses in the state and Ellie Rickman was chosen as one of those top five outstanding witnesses."
