A group of third-through-fifth graders from Zion Lutheran School in Rhinelander recently presented the executive director of the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing, Inc. (NATH), Tammy Modic, with a check for $420.

The children are all members of Zion's "Christ For Kids" group. They organized a bake sale to raise money for Frederick Place and sold the items before and after school. The group's goal of raising $300 was surpassed.

Frederick Place offers emergency shelter for families and individuals from Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida and Vilas counties. The annual operating costs for the shelter are $205,000. These costs include 24-hour staff salaries, case management, food, utilities, supplies, insurance, equipment and maintenance. If you would like more information about Frederick Place, contact Modic at (715) 369-9777.
