Each participant was given $5,000 in "play" money to partake in several casino-style games, along with raffles and other prizes, for a night of fun and charity.
"This is our second Casino Night fundraiser to benefit the museum," said Rouleen Gartner, the museum's executive director.
"This is a great chance for the people of Rhinelander to help support the museum by coming out and having a great time."
"We use the money for many, many things - anything from keeping our roof from leaking to building new exhibits to doing programs for the kids. It all goes into our general fund and we do all of it with that," Gartner added. "We have an after-school program. We have a pre-K program, science programs, volunteer programs for the kids. We have several different things that the kids can get involved in."
The museum is located in Eagle River but Gartner said it receives support from across the Northwoods.
"It feels great to have all of these people out here helping us and having a good time. It really great to see the support we get from this area," Gartner said.
"We always get great support from the Eagle River area and it's great to see it here as well. It really shows that people from all over the Northwoods care about the museum and the kids. We are thrilled to be able to do this."
Casino Night "gamblers" were thrilled to roll the dice for a good cause.
"I heard about this after it happened last year and was bummed I didn't get to go," Stacey Mills said. "We checked out the museum over the summer then and had a great time and knew we had to check this out as well once it came back around. It's a lot of fun and it's great to be able to support a museum for the kids. It's a great museum, our kids had a blast, so to be able to help them out while having a lot of fun, it's a total win-win (situation)."
