Youth roundup: Area teams compete in weekend events
The Rhinelander Rattlers 9U traveling Little League all-star team took first place in a tournament June 7 and 8 in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rattlers defeated Wisconsin Rapids Red (7-6), Stevens Point (8-6) and Holmen (7-6) in the preliminary rounds before defeating Wisconsin Rapids Red again (5-4) for the championship.

Gems take third in Park Falls tourney
The 14U Northwoods Gems, sponsored by Superior Diesel, played in Park Falls on Sunday, June 8, taking third place.
