RMM Solutions to absorb One Prospect Technologies' Rhinelander office
RMM Solutions, a leader in technology solutions, has acquired One Prospect Technologies' Rhinelander office, a technology service division of the Potawatomi Business Development Corporation (PBDC).
One Prospect was recently certified as a participant in the U.S. SBA 8(a) business development program and has shifted its focus to the U.S. federal marketplace as well as supporting the IT and managed services needs at PBDC's Milwaukee data center, Data Holdings. With the shift in focus, the company made a strategic decision to close its Rhinelander office.
It's a move that Rimon Moses, CEO of RMM Solutions said only strengthens their commitment to Rhinelander and the Northwoods.
"We got a call from Bart Lamers at One Prospect and he mentioned they were looking to close their office up here and were looking for options," he said. "Because we had an office up here, it made a lot of sense for us. We're growing and we'd like to add more people. Some of our people came from One Prospect, so it wasn't a stretch to think maybe the rest of the people could come over here too."
RMM Solutions works to improve the way area businesses utilize technology and ensures all systems are healthy and running to their potential. Sometimes, that can make all the difference. Moses said absorbing the talented staff at One Prospect will only make them more efficient and qualified to deliver on that objective.
"From a service perspective, we'll have a broader scope," he said. "We're focused on helping businesses do technology better, and for us that means being proactive rather than reactive. It's one thing to have something break and then call for help. We want to be available for that because that's important too, but we want to take things on from the planning perspective and help put the technology in place and help them manage the technology."
For business owners, that's easier said than done. That's why it helps to have someone constantly monitoring systems to catch any potential snags before they become big problems.
"That management is done of a couple different ways," Moses said. "One of the ways we do it is by introducing agents or software and then monitor their systems to make sure they're running the way they're supposed to. Think of it like a car. How do you know you need to change your oil or your tire pressure is low? It's the same way with IT. We monitor that and when we see something happening, we take care of it."
While the business is headquartered in Wausau, absorbing One Prospect means RMM Solutions is making a dedicated commitment to the Northwoods.
"It should be a very good thing," he said. "We're going to have more density of people and resources up here in the Northwoods. On some level, we're doubling down on our commitment to Rhinelander. We've have five people working out of this office, and now we'll have nine. That's a good number of people working right in Rhinelander, considering all of our billing and paperwork will still be run out of the Wausau office."
Moses and his team will need to reach out to the client base that One Prospect previously held, but it's a challenge he said they're excited to take on.
"Our commitment to the Northwoods is a big deal to us," he said. "My team and I are making a big effort to make sure we integrate our new employees and the staff of One Prospect, but also their customers. We'd like to meet with every customer in person and give them the opportunity to meet us, see us face to face. We want them to understand we're about doing the right thing for the client, and if the right thing for them is to continue doing business with us, we'd be honored and we'd love that. If that's not the right thing for them, that's great and they should pursue that."
The two companies are currently in a transition phase. The acquisition is expected to close on June 27 .
