Featured performers in the inaugural concert will be Rhinelander's Scott Kirby; singer/songwriter/guitarist Adam Gruel from the group Horseshoes & Hand Grenades; and singer/songwriter/guitarist Sarah Voswinkel from the group Dead Horses.
"All the music performed will be original compositions by the performers," ArtStart Program Director Laura Ehmann said. "Roots I is truly a celebration of songwriting creativity."
The three are accomplished performers. Kirby has been called "one of the Northwoods' best and busiest musicians," Gruel possesses "energy to move mountains and musicianship to blow you away," and Voswinkel is the winner of the 2013 Upper-Midwest Singer-songwriter Competition.
Other concerts in the series are scheduled for July 17 and Aug. 14.
The public is invited to enjoy this series, and admission is by donation. A cash bar will be available. The ArtStart Gallery is located at 68 S. Stevens St. in Rhinelander.
