Shoppers are invited to converge on the downtown area between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Craft, antique and food vendors will also participate in the "ridiculous" fun, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Restaurants and bars will also offer specials.
"Our downtown merchants offer some of their best prices of the season at this event," said Michelle Smith-Grage, owner of Lattitudes boutique.
The "ridiculously low" prices draw a crowd, especially in the morning as people try to snag treasures before others see them.
"People love it, there's something for everyone in the family and it's a great way for everyone to get a taste of what our downtown has to offer," Smith-Grage said.
Redikulus Dae began in 1958 when store owners got together to hold an annual street sale.
They chose the end of summer when families were starting to get ready for the upcoming school year.
"Lots of the merchants dressed up in crazy costumes and generally had fun with it," Smith-Grage said.
Since then Redikulus Dae has been held on the first Wednesday in August.
Many businesses have been a part of Redikulus Dae for years and customers who attend the event are never disappointed with the variety of goods and prices.
Two new businesses will be participating in Redikulus Dae for the first time this year.
"The Shabby Cottage and Imaginuity are both great new shops and Redikulus Dae will give people a chance to see what they are all about," Smith-Grage said.
In addition to the great shopping, Redikulus Dae features plenty of live entertainment.
Tunesmith Academy will be playing for the crowd and both Northland Music and Hext Theatre will be providing additional entertainment throughout the day.
Children don't have to be bored, clinging to their mother's shirt as she browses around, they can take a break and play in the bounce house.
Smith-Grage is hoping the weather will be as nice as it has been in years past, but if Mother Nature is uncooperative Redikulus Dae will be held the following day.
Redikulus Dae has been sponsored and promoted by Downtown Rhinelander Inc. for the past seven years.
