Vander Bloemen to host charitable golf event to raise money for Alzheimer's research
The event, hosted by North Star Resource Group Senior Partner Brett Vander Bloemen, will have all proceeds go to Mayo Clinic's Alzheimer's research.
Vander Bloemen is partnering with the Scott Richards North Star Charitable Foundation; an organization that has supported many charitable foundations and causes over the years, with Alzheimer's being one of the designated diseases to support.
For every dollar raised up to $50,000, the Scott Richards North Star Charitable Foundation is matching the proceeds.
The event will start with lunch at 11 a.m. on Monday with a golf outing scheduled for the afternoon, followed by entertainment and an auction dinner.
All proceeds from the auction will go to the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's research as well.
Vander Bloemen organized the event after witnessing firsthand with his mother, Liz, the emotional toll the disease can take on both the individual diagnosed and the family and friends surrounding that person.
With more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's, Vander Bloemen decided to become more involved in supporting research for a cure.
