Beatrice Kofler celebrated her 100th birthday July 9 with her children, their significant others, and friends.

She attributes her longevity to the happy life she has led. It has been filled with love, laughs and family, she said.

"I had a wonderful life, a wonderful husband, wonderful children, everything was wonderful," she said. "I had a beautiful life."

She talked about her travels to Italy, which she found beautiful, and China, where her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann, is from.

Kofler also reminisced about her husband and that special day when she married her love.

"When we got out to the car - the priest had not allowed us to have a kiss at the altar - so when we got in the car to go away my husband said 'you are not getting away this fast you've got to give me a kiss,' and that was it," she said.

"That was that special man that made my life happy, he did, and through him I got these four wonderful kids and they also make me very happy and their spouses are wonderful."

To mark the occasion, she ate a piece of birthday cake with her photo on it.

The cake was a gift from a friend in Arizona who gave her $100.

"And with that $100 I wanted to buy a birthday cake and I wanted to have my picture taken with the birthday cake and sent back to Irlene to show her how I spent her $100," Kofler said.
