J.C. Penney to close Rhinelander store
The Rhinelander store is one of five stores in the state that will be affected. The other closures are in Fond Du Lac, Janesville, Rice Lake and Wausau. According to a company press release, remaining inventory in the stores will be sold in the coming months and final closings are expected by early May.
Approximately 2,000 positions are being eliminated as a result of the closures. A company spokesperson said 25 of those positions are at the Rhinelander store.
