In her new role as eastern region vice president, Ms. Hilt will be responsible for directing the performance of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation (SEHF), Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, Mercy Health Foundation (MHF) and Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. Ms. Hilt will be located at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she will manage daily operations as hospital president. St. Elizabeth Hospital offers a wide range of top-tier healthcare services, including a 24-hour emergency department, oncology, cardiology, neurology and orthopedics. St. Eliza-beth Hospital also has a neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a state-of-the-art BirthPlace Center, known for the high level of medical care and amenities it offers new mothers, infants and families.

"Monica is a talented and engaging leader who has been part of the Ministry Health Care organization for over 20 years," stated Daniel Neufelder, president and CEO for Ministry Health Care. "She has enjoyed great success with Ministry and is known for her strong associate engagement, excellent physician relations, exemplary financial skills and unwavering commitment to person-centered care," he noted. "We are excited Monica will be assuming the leadership role in Ministry's Eastern Region."

Prior to this appointment, she served as regional vice president of Ministry's Northern Region, a position she has held since 2008. Before that Ms. Hilt was president of Sacred Heart-Saint Mary's Hospitals in Tomahawk and Rhinelander. She has also held leadership roles in human resources, support services and quality during her tenure with Ministry. Ms. Hilt holds a bachelor's degree in Health Information Administration from the University of Wisconsin and is currently working on a master's degree in Health Care Administration from Ohio University.

"Monica has a clear strategic vision that will be important in the years ahead for Ministry's Eastern Region and across the entire health care system as we move forward as part of Ascension," stated Nick Desien, Ascension Ministry Market Leader for Wisconsin. "I have worked with Monica for many years and know that her background and skills make her an excellent choice for this role," he said.

Ascension Wisconsin includes Columbia St. Mary's in Milwaukee and Ministry Health Care (including Affinity Health System), which is based in Milwaukee and has locations across the Northeast, Central and Northern regions of Wisconsin. Ascension is the largest Catholic and non-profit health care organization in the nation, with 153,000 associates serving in more than 1,900 locations in 23 states and the District of Columbia.

According to a Minsitry press release, Ann Zenk, who is currently vice president of patient care services for Sacred Heart-Saint Mary's Hospitals in Tomahawk and Rhinelander, will become the interim regional vice president of the Northern Region as Hilt moves to the Fox Valley. "A search for a new regional executive will be conducted to fill this important Northern Region leadership role for Ministry Health Care," the press release states.
