Dr. Lee Swank of Rhinelander recently donated a five-acre, waterfront parcel of land to the Nicolet College Foundation which intends to sell the property with proceeds going to fund student scholarships. The property, located in Iron County in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, features 400 feet of frontage on Smoky Lake, which covers nearly 600 acres and is noted for its crystal clear water. "A college education benefits both individuals and the communities where the graduates live," said Heather Schallock, second from right, foundation executive director. "Donations like this will have a positive impact for residents and communities of the Northwoods for many years to come. Nicolet College and the foundation would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Swank for such a generous donation." Dr. Swank is pictured here second from left. He's with Bob Martini, far left, foundation president; Schallock, second from right, foundation executive director; and Roxanne Lutgen, Nicolet vice president of finance and college operations. The property is listed through Mulleady Realtors.
