In the fall of 1937, Antigo came to Rhinelander for its third attempt to win the famed Gene Shepard Bell from the Hodags. Fans gathered early on the hill above what is now Sarocka Park to watch the game. Cars lined the street next to the field and eventually, standing room only was left for latecomers. According to River News records, Rhinelander won the game 31-6.
