Peterson named director of special education/pupil services for School District of Rhinelander

The district made the announcement in a press release Wednesday afternoon.
Peterson replaces Dave Wall who retired at the end of the 2013-'14 school year.
She comes to Rhinelander from the Northland Pines School District where she worked for 15 years as a special education teacher and director of pupil services, the release states. Peterson has also worked as the St. Germain Elementary School principal, as the director of instruction at Northland Pines and as a teacher at Florence High School and Lincoln Hills.
According to the release, Peterson earned her undergraduate degree in history and her master's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. She earned her administrative licenses through Marian University and her Ph.D. in K-12 educational leadership from Capella University.
Peterson moved to Rhinelander at the age of seven and is a graduate of Rhinelander High School, the release states. After her college years, she returned to the Northwoods to raise her family and to student-teach. She has two sons who attended Rhinelander schools.
