Nicolet Area Technical College President Elizabeth Burmaster is being considered for the president position at Frederick Community College in Maryland. She is one of three finalists and was scheduled to visit the campus this week.

At the moment, that remains the only job in which Burmaster has been named a finalist. Officials at Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota announced Wednesday that Leslie McClellon will be the school's next president, another job in which Burmaster had been a finalist.

In recent months, Burmaster has also been considered for jobs at Edgewood College in Madison and Rock Valley College in Rockford, Ill.

According to a press release from Frederick Community College, the new president will be selected "as quickly as possible" following the interviews of the three final candidates this week. The college's new president will start July 1.

If Burmaster is chosen and accepts the job, it would be a return home. Burmaster is originally from the Frederick, Md. area which is approximately 50 miles outside of Baltimore. According to the press release, she also took courses at Frederick Community College before graduating high school.

Burmaster has spent her long education career in Wisconsin though following her graduation from UW-Madison in 1976. She has been Nicolet's president since 2009.
