Wipfli LLP expands state and local tax practice
Multi-state tax industry veteran Mike Herold joins the firm
"We are pleased to welcome Mike to Wipfli's state and local tax practice," said Greg Butler, partner-in-charge of the firm's state and local tax practice. "Mike brings impressive skills, deep expertise and industry knowledge to the firm's state and local tax practice, which will further deepen our practice's capabilities. His experience makes him a valuable addition to our team and for our clients who are trying to navigate continually changing state tax laws."
As a director in the firm's state and local tax practice, Herold will draw from over 19 years of experience in the sales and use tax area and his broad national experience in all state tax types including unclaimed property, real and personal property taxes, and income, franchise and gross receipts taxes. Prior to joining Wipfli, Herold was a principal at a national accounting firm where he was responsible for assisting clients in multi-state tax planning and audit defense, for firmwide training in state and local taxes, and for developing state tax strategies to advance the firm's vision. In addition, Herold previously provided state tax services while working at Big Four and national firms, and worked as a tax manager for Ameripride, a large, family-owned corporation based in Minneapolis.
Herold holds a juris doctorate degree from Hamline University, and a bachelor's degree in organizational management and communication from Concordia University.
