Northern Lakes Concrete receives two concrete design awards
Northern Lakes Concrete was the recipient of the awards for the Victoria Dam Spillway Improvement Project in Rockland, Mich. The awards were given in the Municipal Infrastructure and North Central Region categories. The project began in June and was completed in November of 2013.
Victoria Dam is a 12.4 megawatt hydroelectric dam originally constructed in 1930. It is part of the Ontonagon River Watershed system. These improvements will allow the dam to operate safely well into the future, according to a press release announcing the award. Roughly 1800 cubic yards of concrete was produced to complete the project.
"These awards are the result of teamwork and the dedication of our employees" said Matt Madderom, Quality Control Manager of Northern Lakes Concrete.
