The festivities are set to begin at 10:30 a.m. There will be 5,000 brightly colored plastic eggs stuffed with candy hidden all over the playground portion of the park.
The area will be roped off into sections for each age category and children ages 3 to 10 can enjoy the hunt. The 3-and-4-year-olds can be accompanied by a parent. The event is free.
Inside some of the eggs there will be a special ticket that corresponds with an age-appropriate gift basket.
"Last year for the little kids there was a board game and a stuffed toy and some sidewalk chalk and that sort of thing, so just fun activities," said RAOC president Nicole Polkowski. Children will be able to collect a certain number of eggs depending on how many participate in the event.
"It's a first-come, first-serve sort of deal that we can only promise there will be eggs at the start," Polkowski said.
The Easter Bunny will make an appearance and there will be a face-painting area where children can get a little bunny nose and whiskers.
RAOC requests that people bring their own bags to collect eggs in, as none will be provided.
The egg hunt will take place regardless of weather conditions so parents are advised to dress their children accordingly.
RAOC is an international organization that aims to help youth in fun and educational ways.
