Twenty junior high students from Three Lakes received a copy of "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan on April 23, also know as World Book Night. This date coincides with William Shakespeare's birthday and is celebrated around the world.

Over 25,000 book givers chose a title from among 20 books that were donated by publishers and book sellers. The book givers received 20 copies of their chosen book and sought creative ways to give the books away.

Laura Wipperman, Three Lakes librarian, and Teresa Cleary, library paraprofessional, attended the junior high sporting events on the night of April 23 and presented 20 students with a book.

World Book Night exists to foster the love of reading by putting good books into the hands of potential readers. If you are interested in being a book-giver next year, visit www.worldbooknight.org for more information.
