A contingent of students and staff from Nicolet College visited the Wisconsin State Capitol recently to participate in the Celebration of Student Engagement event sponsored by the Wisconsin Technical College System.

Nicolet students highlighted a recent service learning project to Guatemala where students worked on a reforestation project and also presented information on the college's Criminal Justice club and its involvement in community events. Students also had the opportunity to meet with local legislators.

Pictured here are, left to right, Elizabeth Frederickson, 35th Assembly District Rep. Mary Czaja, Andrew Mangles, Christie Kordzela, 34th Assembly District Rep. Rob Swearingen, Brook Zimmerman, and Cody Remick. Nicolet instructors Ocie Kilgus, Spanish, and Phil Schmidt, Criminal Justice, accompanied the students.

All 16 colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System participated in the annual event.
